StartSprint is committed to creating a safe, secure, and education-focused environment for students, teachers, and educational institutions. Safeguarding is central to the design and operation of the platform.
StartSprint recognises its responsibility to help protect children and young people who use the platform.

2Platform Design Principles
No Student Accounts Required
Students can participate in quizzes and learning activities without creating personal accounts. This reduces risks associated with identity exposure, account misuse, and user-generated personal data.
No Open Messaging or Chat
StartSprint does not provide any messaging or communication channels between users. Students cannot message teachers, other students, or communicate with external users in any form.
No Student User-Generated Content
Students cannot upload or create public content on the platform. All learning content is teacher-created or teacher-approved.
3Content Control and Moderation
Teacher-Created Educational Content
All quizzes and learning materials are created by verified teachers, approved educational contributors, or the StartSprint content team.
Teachers are responsible for ensuring content is appropriate and aligned with curriculum standards.
Content Moderation
StartSprint reserves the right to review, remove, or suspend content that violates safeguarding guidelines. Harmful or inappropriate content will be removed immediately.

- Behavioural advertising
- Targeted advertising
- Advertising networks
Sponsorship appears as
- Educational banners
- Learning partner acknowledgements
- Sponsored educational challenges
- Career awareness quiz topics
Sponsorship Safeguarding Rules
Sponsors are NOT permitted to collect student data, communicate directly with students, track student behaviour, or place targeted advertising.
Sponsors may only receive aggregated and anonymised engagement data. All partnerships are reviewed for alignment with educational values.
5Data Protection and Privacy
No Personal Student Data Collection
StartSprint does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, photographs, or home addresses from students. Student participation is tracked using anonymous session identifiers only.
GDPR Compliance
StartSprint complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
6Teacher Verification and Platform Governance
- Teachers who create educational content may undergo verification checks where appropriate.
- StartSprint administrators monitor usage patterns to ensure the system is used in accordance with safeguarding guidelines.
7Safeguarding Reporting
StartSprint takes all safeguarding concerns seriously.
If a school, teacher, or partner identifies content or platform behaviour that raises safeguarding concerns, it should be reported immediately.
